Synopsis :

L'histoire se déroule dans un monde infesté par le mystérieux "syndrome de Randolph" qui provoque des comas soudains. Parallèlement, un gigantesque monde souterrain appelé "Asylym" a été découvert au pôle Sud, là où le syndrome trouve son origine. Des créatures étranges, différentes de celles de la surface, y vivent avec des richesses naturelles inconnues jusqu'alors. Pour trouver un remède au syndrome de Randolph, et pour s'enrichir en pillant les données génétiques et les ressources souterraines de ces créatures, des personnes se rendent à Asylym.
L'histoire de l'anime se situe entre celle du manga et du jeu. Daniel Kai Shigure, le protagoniste, décide de se rendre aux confins d'Asylym avec un but précis.
