Synopsis :

Nakajima Atsushi vient d'être exclu de son orphelinat, maintenant il n'a aucun endroit où aller et aucune nourriture.

Tandis qu'il se tient près d'une rivière, étant sur le point de mourir de faim, il sauve un homme faisant une tentative de suicide. Cet homme est Dazai Osamu, et lui et son partenaire Kunikida sont les membres d'une agence policière très spéciale. Ils possèdent des pouvoirs surnaturels et traitent les cas d'affaires qui sont trop dangereux pour la police ou l'armée.
